Tehran is willing to resume atomic negotiations with Washington on condition that it is handled with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

Abbas Araghchi declared solely negotiations was effective, and shared new appeals had come from intermediaries to resume discussions with the US government. He asserted Iran did not have unreported enrichment locations, and Iran had not yet reached a point to authorize the UN nuclear inspectorate to access bombed nuclear sites for safety concerns.

Walking a Challenging Path

The foreign minister is treading a difficult path since Iran aims to avoid appear to be proceeding from a position of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had emerged stronger militarily and mentally from the coordinated strike on its atomic facilities in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to refine atomic fuel within its borders that it will never give up" – the key factor of the deadlock in the prior discussions.

Prior Talks Suddenly Terminated

The previous five rounds of discussions between the United States and Iran were brought to an abrupt and hostile termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, attacked Iran's enrichment centers in a 12-day war that concluded with Donald Trump declaring the facilities had been eliminated. Following this, European countries employed their right to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Offered

Iranian officials stated they felt they had achieved a "perfect agreement" to the enrichment issue in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an domestic cooperative with American involvement could enrich uranium. Both sides would have been able to claim victory since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be confident that Iran's enrichment initiative was entirely non-military.

It had not been settled in the negotiations that American atomic experts could operate within Iranian territory, but that was a reasonable assumption of the cooperative offer. Officials claimed three times they had secured an understanding with Trump's special envoy the American negotiator only for the agreement to fall apart due to "detractors in America".

Current Status

Tehran representatives stated the consortium offer was now off the table, but it seems very probable the suggestion could be revived in various formats if negotiations resume.

The American leader recently stated he had been getting signals that Iran sought to restart talks, but in private Iranian officials claim they are not yet receiving coherent offers from Washington either straightforwardly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as Qatar, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Tehran's diplomatic corps has been criticized of passivity in the wake of the US president's straightforward manner, but Iran states diplomacy is not part of a show.

Negotiating Stance

In his remarks to the conference, aimed to portray the US as a controlling nation that abuses the concept of international law, the foreign minister stated the fortnight-long engagement showed the clash could not be resolved by combat operations. He stated the strikes commenced with a Washington's ultimatum for an total Iran submission and culminated with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is convinced the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were mounted with total Washington understanding and collaboration, making confidence hard to rebuild.

Diplomacy Remains the Primary Answer

The foreign minister declared: "Tehran was not the one that had fled negotiations; it was the United States and the western countries that had always tried to enforce their will during the discussions. Negotiations can still be viable and continues the primary solution to address disputes, but its requirements, guidelines and tenets must be adhered to."

"Provided that they talk to the Iranian people with the language of dignity and respect, they will obtain a response in the equivalent tone."

Recovery and Reconstruction

In what is described by Iranian officials as the battle of recovery and rebuilding, Araghchi claimed he was certain Iran's military capacities "are considerably enhanced than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been restored. We gained many lessons from this war; we have identified our own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of the adversary."

He continued: "We successfully passed this war. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to eliminate, stays intact. The facilities and equipment, if damaged, will be rebuilt; what is crucial is the will of the Iranian people and then the unity of the country that they sought to undermine, but failed to break. The citizens of Tehran have become more resilient, more cohesive, and more backing of the government and the state in the wake of this assault."
